YEOUTH Teen Skin System Review

Your teenage years are never good times for your skin and are generally characterized by hormonal changes that leave your skin with acne and oily, dehydrated skin. Most American drugstore skincare lines will tell teens that the solution to all of their woes is to attack their skin with harsh cleansers that contain even harsher ingredients (microbeads, and SLS just to name a few) which leave your skin looking and feeling even worse.

Thanks to YEOUTH you can effectively combat your acne while also hydrating your face to help with dehydration with their Teen Skin System  $54.95.

Disclaimer: I was sent this set for free from YEOUTH but all opinions are my own

The set contains 4 quick and easy steps which is something teens will certainly appreciate because you can easily get them done before heading to school in the morning or going to bed at night.

1. YEOUTH Vitamin C Facial Cleanser $18.95

Ingredients:
Water, Sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate, Sodium cocoyl isethionate, Disodium cocoamphodiacetate, Glycerin, Decyl glucoside, Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose Panthenol, Polyquaternium-10, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice Camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, Panax ginseng root extract, Undaria pinnatifida extract, Oryza sativa (rice) bran oil, Sodium ascorbyl phosphate, Caprylyl glycol, Hexylene glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin

Of all of the products in this kit, this cleanser is probably my favorite and the one I would recommend you pick up the most whether you’re a teen or not. Its a lovely nice and gentle foaming cleanser and after using it my face was left feeling clean and free of the daily grime, but not stripped or too squeaky clean. I’ve been using this cleanser (and all of the products) for a little under a month and I definitely think this cleanser has contributed to decreasing how inflamed my acne is and also leaves my skin feeling nice and soft thanks to the seaweed extract, aloe, and vitamin C combo.

2. YEOUTH Balancing Facial Toner $14.95

Ingredients:
Water, Butylene Glycol, Allantoin, Alcloxa, Chamomilla Recutita (Martricaria) Flower Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethyhexylglycerin

If you are someone with oily or combination skin then you’ll probably love this toner, and if you also have sensitive skin you’ll find comfort in the short ingredient list. The toner is made with several soothing ingredients that also aim to reduce acne with their anti-bacterial properties. Personally, I look for toners that are more hydrating than this one so I wasn’t a huge fan of this at first because the allantoin wasn’t moisturizing enough for my normal skin type. However when used as prep  before and after using acid treatments I found that my skin really appreciated this soothing toner. Another major bonus is that the spray nozzle is fantastic and distributes a super fine and even mist.

3.YEOUTH Pure Hyaluronic Acid $14.95

Ingredients:
Hyaluronic Acid, Phenoxyethanol

Hyaluronic acid is a fantastic ingredient for keeping young skin looking young for many years because of its ability to preseve your skin’s natural elasticity and firmness and it also draws moisture into your skin which can help with oily, dehydrated skin. When first applied it does have a tell-tale sticky feeling that I associate with HA but it actually fades to a managable level quite quickly. This is a great night time skincare product and immeadiately makes my skin feel plumper; two thumbs up.

4. YEOUTH Day/Night Moisturizer $19.95

Ingredients
Water, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Glycerin, Butylene glycol, Cetearyl alcohol, Glyceryl stearate, Coco-caprylate/caprate, Stearic acid, Dimethicone, Cetearyl olivate, Sodium hyaluronate, Palmitoyl tripeptide-38, Copper tripeptide-1, Panthenol, Sorbitan olivate, Sorbitol, C 13-14 isoparaffin, Polyacrylamide, Laureth-7, Hydroxypropyl cyclodextrin, Glycine, Hydrolyzed soy protein, Snail secretion filtrate, Carrageenan, Avena sativa (oat) kernel extract, Arnica montana flower extract, Rubus idaeus (raspberry) fruit extract, Camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, Anthemis nobilis (chamomile) flower extract, Camellia sinensis (white tea) leaf extract, Panax ginseng root extract, Centella asiatica extract, Echinacea purpurea extract, Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, Oryza sativa (rice) bran oil, Carbomer, Disodium edta, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Triethanolamine

The final step im YEOUTH’s teen skin system is this light weight moisturizer they claim can be used both in the morning and at night,I knew I would love the second I read snail extract on the packaging. This is almost suprisingly lightweight because at first glance it looks kind of heavy, but it really has the texture of a gel and not a thick cream ( if you scroll down you can see all the texture shots). I found that this works best as a day cream for me because it almost was too fast absorbing for my night routine unless it was topped off with an oil ( for fellow peeps with acne prone skin, rosehip oil is great). It also has a strong dimethicone feel to it, which I know bothers some people but also means it looks great under makeup.

Overall:

This set would really make a great gift for any teen in your life who is struggling with acne or even those lucky blemish free guys and gals who are just into skincare. The teenage years are a great time to start instilling healthy skincare habits into teens and YEOUTH’s Teen Skin System does exactly that with a focus on not only dealing with common skin concerns like acne while also aiding in hydration and anti-aging (prevention is key!!).All of the skincare products are great, if I were to rank them in order of greatness it would be:

    1. YEOUTH Vitamin C Facial Cleanser $18.95
    2. YEOUTH Pure Hyaluronic Acid $14.95
    3. YEOUTH Day/Night Moisturizer $19.95
    4. YEOUTH Balancing Facial Toner $14.95

To save you the hassle of doing the math, altogether to buy these individually would cost $68.80 but buying the Teen Skin System for $54.95 would save you $13.85 .The only criticism I have is, I wish this set also had a sunscreen, but YEOUTH at this time doesn’t have one :/ but that ~$14 you saved could go to the purchase of a good sunscreen ( I recommend the Biore Watery Essence one) and you’d have a simple and complete routine.
